New Painting Disintegration II
Disintegration II, Watercolor on 300gsm Arches Paper, Size – 55” x 38” inches, Year – 2021.
This painting is one of my Surrealism series paintings. It was 2009 when I started the series with my thought of expressing the conflict of nature and mechanism. Here Steam engine signifies the invention of the Industrial Revolution which spreads fast and massively on human lives.
As a result civilization gets better but it took the cost of loss of nature. Goldfish symbolizes sensitivity where flower signifies love and affection of mother nature. We can relate how smoke is disintegrating the purity of nature and life. Where Jigsaw puzzle gives visualization of the emptiness of nature.
For an example you can relate today’s situation all over the world. This is how nature reacts when ecosystem gets disbalanced.
So in short if I say, day by day with the development of mechanisms thus making civilization strong nature is getting deployed, this is what I wanted to express in the painting.

What is going around may not match with the subject today, but it feels joyous to remember small beautiful things we have gathered in our life’s journey.

Whenever I say Bengali there is an emotion directly connected to our great festival of Ma Durga Puja. Being bengali and then an artist I thoroughly enjoy my Durga puja series creations. It was long time back my college days when I first did my Durga series painting and since then the charm of the festival is continuing. Bengalis are never bored of this festival so am I. Every year it comes back with a new bundle of celebration, a spectacle to behold. In all those four days the last day is very much fascinating when I used to watch the womenfolk dressed in white saree with red border smear shindur on each other’s face and the deities with red sindoor. It’s called shindur khela in bengali which offers a vibrant and fascinating sight. Since childhood I have seen my mother and other married women play this ritual to seek blessings for her family. It’s very symbolic as the celebration of feminism. In my Durga series paintings you will get that vibe of Bijoya Dasami, the celebration of womanhood with blessings and affection.

Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Mumbai has made its distinct place in the heart of this city whenever it comes to the most iconic landmarks. This beautiful and grand bridge is connected between Bandra and Worli through the vast sealine.

From the moment seeing Sea Link constructed in front of my eyes time has travelled so fast. Now when I pass through the bridge or see it from far in my route the breath-taking magnificent view never miss my eyes. Every time the Sea Link looks mesmerizing whether in early morning, in the day, evening or in the night with sparkling lights. Let me say that each one is different and will remain engraved in my heart for life.
Here in this painting I have captured one of those beautiful views. The aerial view gives the feel of the beauty of the bridge in evening lights with all those high rise buildings standing tall through the edges. The afternoon lights of sunset on the water line is a feature to adore, yellow and orange hues piercing the air and over the high rise capture eyes. The reflecting hues mixed with blue tone over the glazing sea looks heavenly. With all one can get the idea of in real how reminiscent the silhouette looks through the sunlight.

Let me first wish you and your family a sparkly, joyous Merry Christmas and a beautiful New Year filled with peace and hope in advance.
Finally another year is about to end. 2020 is indeed a rollercoaster ride for all of us. In all these ups and down we have gone through several new experiences. Even this tough time has driven us to discover every new in ourselves. Being an artist to found my new way of doing art was a joy. Yes I got to experiment my artistic skill several ways this year. It was great just to focus on my work and bring the fresh.
So I’m very happy to share with you a new painting of Jesus Christ on this Christmas time. I enjoyed a lot working on this painting introducing the punch of charcoal and acrylic on canvas in such a different approach. In addition I have also used gold foil which was absolutely latest and fun to do. This painting of Jesus Christ has brought a beautiful feeling of happiness in me which I want to share with you all. Hope the coming time brings more such great vibes of positivity in us to feel and share.
