The paintings of AnantaMandal are suffused with serene simplicity. The brush stroke are bold and confident. In his exhibition titled ‘A Journey from Reality’, Mandal has depicted a hidden world in the city. His disillusionment with machinery is underscored in random pieces of jigsaw puzzles which eventually combine into a whole. Mandal’s world is one in which the threat of lives being subsumed by technology and machinery looms large in the horizon.
